Engineers and designers, "Toyota Motor Europe," and Interaction Design Institute in Copenhagen have created a vehicle concepts, "Window to the World."
With innovative interactive features of glasses concept opens up new possibilities for passengers cars. The technology of "augmented reality" allows you to display on the glass for more info on attractions and facilities, by which the car travels.
Designers and engineers, "Toyota Motor Europe," and Interaction Design Institute in Copenhagen have developed five concepts "Window to the World":
1. "Interactive Canvas" - using glass as a canvas in the car, the passengers can draw with your fingers and see how they created the image fit into the surroundings to the extent of the car.
2. "Approaching the selected items" - glass turns into a screen through which passengers can approximate the objects of the world to see them in a totally new perspective.
3. "Translated into the local language" - are choosing the glass objects, the passenger gets translated their names into the language of the host in real time.
4. "Visualization of distance" - a passenger is enough to note any object on the surface of the glass displays the distance from the vehicle to the chosen location or object.
5. "Virtual Constellation" - on the panoramic roof of the car displays the virtual constellations and information about them on the background of the real image of the sky.
The concepts developed by specialists of the "emotional design" company "Toyota Motor Europe." Established in 2004, this department is one of the key European research center of the company. Professional development units of the "emotional design" in the future will determine the design of Toyota and Lexus.
The first prototypes of Toyota "Window to the World" were shown at the exhibition "The transport system of the future" in Brussels on 22-25 June 2011.
