Recall that this law was drafted before the deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party. According to their proposal, "flashers" should be banned in all vehicles, except special vehicles - fire, "first aid" and the police. The MPs believe that the law will not only greatly reduce the degree of social tension on the roads, but also reduce the number of accidents. "If the ban on the installation of flashing lights on vehicles without special tsvetograficheskih schemes, it will help create the conditions for the unimpeded movement of vehicles and eliminate the source of threat to life and health of citizens", - says the text of the statement prepared by the deputies. It is emphasized that in case of special performance the need for rapid movement of cars can be accompanied by officials of the traffic police cars.
However, the bill did not meet proper endorsement: Liberal Democratic Party voted for the initiative of 107 deputies out of 450. According to the head of the Security Committee Vladimir Vasilyev, the percentage of accidents involving cars with "flashers" in 2010 amounted to only 0.05% of the total, which is very small. "Today this project is not sufficiently justified to take it" - he said.
However, Vasilyev did not deny the growing resentment and irritation of the population and suggested that "a detailed study the issue, all the calculate" and return to it in the future.
