From now on new cars and trucks (up to 3 tons) TC generally not required to be inspected. Car owners from three to seven years will need to be on point once in two years, and cars older than seven years must, as always, be inspected annually. At the same vehicles for commercial passenger transportation (taxis, buses) will be required to pass inspection every six months, and special vehicles and trucks over three tons - each year.
The new law also requires the gradual transfer of the mandatory inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the commercial and technical center contract CTP (motor insurance) only if the MOT, news agency RIA Novosti reported.
Within two years, motorists can choose from two options for passing inspection, either at the existing stations then (cost is 700 rubles.) Or new technical center, accredited by the Russian Union of Insurers. Price latter option has not been disclosed, but it is expected that it will be two to three times the price for an ordinary point inspection.
It also reported that motorists are now able to pass then in any local mechanic country, that is not tied to any municipality or the region.
The law will come into force on 1 January 2012.
